South Spine’s revamped Canteen B will feature a blend of both old and new stalls when it reopens, according to a notice posted on the canteen premises.
While the notice stated that it will open on 6th Jan 2020, the canteen is only expected to open to the public on 13 Jan 2020, according to Fine Food F&B.
Now run by Fine Food F&B instead of Koufu, the canteen includes a stall from Taiwanese bubble tea chain CHICHA San Chen, and another selling Shanghai xiao long bao, which was previously only available on campus at Canteen 2.
Another newcomer to the canteen is a stall from Yu Kee Duck Rice, marking the duck rice chain’s 30th outlet in Singapore. My Kampung Chicken Rice, which is owned by the Yu Kee Group, will also be added to the canteen.
Notably, some stalls that served NTU during Koufu’s tenure will remain in operation, such as the Yong Tau Foo stall and Pasta Express.
The new canteen will host 15 stalls, one more than its previous 14 stalls.
Students can also look forward to more dining options with the recent reopening of Canteen 1 and Canteen 13. Canteen 2 will also make a return in time for the start of the semester.
Correction: A previous version of the article only mentioned that the canteen will open on 6th Jan as announced on the notice. However, it has since come the light that the opening will be delayed till 13th Jan 2020, pending SFA approval for the stores.
