All NTU classes above 50 pax will continue to proceed online until Nov 21, while in-person lessons may resume if there are no more than 50 persons per venue, said NTU in a Covid-19 email update sent to students on Saturday (Oct 23).
The same applies to exams, which can be conducted in person with safe distancing measures and separate zones capped at up to 50 people.
Furthermore, students who test positive for Covid-19 during the upcoming exam weeks and wish to take their exam will have to inform their respective school admin office, latest by 9am on the day before their scheduled exam, wrote Deputy President and Provost Ling San and Senior Vice President for Administration Tan Aik Na in the email circular seen by Soapbox.
Academic class discussions, as well as project and lab work, will continue to remain limited to two persons per group, said NTU.
Travel Guidelines
The school is also allowing vaccinated students to travel under “University-sanctioned travel”, such as overseas exchange and immersion programmes. The host countries, however, exclude higher-risk countries such as Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, according to Singapore’s border control guidelines.
However, NTU also cautioned that those who opt to travel may be recalled at short notice in accordance with the Government’s announcements. If that happens, these students must bear the full costs and expenses incurred, said NTU.
“Students are reminded to discuss the matter with their parents, guardians, or next-of-kin and work with the respective programme offices to undertake their own risk assessment before opting to travel,” wrote Mr Ling and Ms Tan in the email, adding that more details would be announced by the respective programme offices.
Students undertaking personal travel are also required to inform and discuss with their respective school administration offices and sign a letter of undertaking, NTU said.
ART Kits Purchase and Collection
Those who need ART kits may also purchase them at the Co-Op shop at the Hive by presenting their matriculation card or staff pass, with a purchase limit of up to two per week, said the University.
