Students and staff will no longer need to wear masks on campus except in the medical centre and on campus buses from Monday (Aug 29).
According to an email from the President’s Office to students on Friday (Aug 26), students and staff may remove their masks during classes, lectures and examinations.
All academic classes and laboratory work can be done without mask-wearing and social distancing requirements, said the email.
This comes a few days after the Government announced that wearing masks will not be a legal requirement from Aug 29, except in healthcare facilities and public transport.
Live performances in university venues may also resume with no capacity limits and safe distancing requirements.
However, only fully-vaccinated students and staff will be allowed to attend live performances with more than 500 audience members.
Audience members will still need to wear masks if performances are held in healthcare settings and on public transport, added the university.
While there will be no limit to dining group sizes, only fully vaccinated students and staff are allowed to have meals in campus eateries.
Hall residents will also not need to wear masks in both indoor and outdoor settings, the email added. There will be no group size restrictions or safe distancing requirements for residents and Hall visitors, said the university.
